Most driveway failures come from a poor foundation, not the blocks on top. We don't cut corners underground where you can't see it. Every driveway is excavated to the correct depth, laid with a compacted sub-base, edged and haunched securely, then finished with a laying course, the blocks and kiln-dried jointing sand. That is why ours last.

What affects the cost of a block paving driveway?

How long does it take to lay a block paving driveway?

Do I need planning permission for a block paving driveway?
Usually not, as long as the surface is permeable or drains to a permeable area such as a border or lawn. A non-permeable driveway over 5 m² that drains straight to the road does need permission. We build to the current SUDS rules as standard.
Do block paving driveways need much maintenance?
Very little. An occasional wash and topping up the jointing sand every few years keeps it looking its best. We can also seal it to help resist stains and weeds if you'd like.
